Digital Video Feedback

Notes for the October 24, 2005 CECA conference

(look for a website dedicated to Digital Video Feedback to be up and running by October 28, 2005.  Included will be weekly personal notes and advice related to the success and struggles with continued implementation of this program in my classroom, as well as technology resources for educators looking to implement this program in their own classroom or school.)
 

In 2005 I was awarded West Hartford's Lighthouse Grant, allowing me to purchase the necessary equipment in order to fully launch Digital Video Feedback in my classroom.  The grant proposal very much tells the story of Digital Video Feedback

http://www.marcprensky.com:  Marc Prensky is an author, educator, video game designer, and a technology advocate who asserts that most educators need to recognize themselves as being "Digital Immigrants" to this new digital frontier, while also recognizing that students come to school today as "Digital Natives", already conversant and fully invested in the digital culture.  There is a terrific video of a Prensky speaking on the subject on this site that I highly recommend.  Prensky writes at length about the importance of immediate feedback in relation to the video game generation, one of the essential beliefs that guides Digital Video Feedback.
